Go Orange for the Animals
The Krewe of Barkus & Meoux and the
Louisiana Boardwalk
in Bossier City, Louisiana participated in
ASPCA’s:
Go Orange for the Animals. It was a huge success.
We teamed up with local animal groups such as
Caddo Animal Shelter,
Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana,
Robinsons Rescue,
Hopeful Haven,
Red River Responsible Pet Ownership and
Caddo Caring Canines.
Together we created a sea of orange to bring animals and their
well being to the table. We had games and fun for all ages. But
by far our proudest moment was when we learned that we had
adopted out 40 animals to new homes.
We had plenty pf activities on hand for our orange dressed
animals. The Boardwalk provided prizes for our games. We even
had an animal version of musical chairs. One of the local
merchants,
Cold Stone Creamery
even provided us with free orange
ice cream cake for the event. We were very pleased that Laura
Lanza, with the ASPCA, joined us for this orange celebration.
The 2007 ASPCA: GO Orange for the animals at the Louisiana
Boardwalk was a great success. We are very proud to have been a part of your celebration.
We hope that this will be yearly event in the Shreveport/Bossier City area. The huge adoption and
working with the ASPCA for animal awareness was an awesome
experience.
Held at the Louisiana Boardwalk Tuesday, April 10, 2007
