 In
August of 1999,
we officially formed our non-profit animal organization to benefit abused,
neglected and homeless animals. As you might already know, we sponsor the Krewe of Barkus &
Meoux Pet Parade during the Mardi Gras season each year and are now able to promote many
more charitable functions throughout the year.
Our
small eclectic group is growing by leaps and bounds. Our membership
drive is in progress and we want to extend a warm thank you to all of our new members. We
are so very thankful for all of our wonderful sponsors and volunteers. Without you we would not
be able to accomplish all of our plans for the future. If you have an idea for fund-raising,
please pass it along. And please tell all of your friends about us. Together we can make a difference....
The
annual Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Pet Parade
is now held at RiverView Park during Mardi Gras season. Please
plan to attend and join in the FUN. Bring your pets, children, and all of your family and
friends. The Pet Parade planning committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month
at Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Room 200 at 6:00 PM. If you would like to volunteer,
please plan to attend or call us at 752-CATS or email us.
We

We
always appreciate your donations to the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux and
to help our volunteers work more efficiently, we are in need of various office supplies,
including: copy paper of any color, a copier, rolls of stamps, and other general office supplies.
We
also need donations for the animals at our two local shelters, including dog toys,
cat toys, canned puppy/dog and kitten/cat food, and collars. If you wish to donate any of these items,
